NORTH CHARLESTON, SC — The Republican Liberty Caucus of South Carolina conducted an independent straw poll at Saturday’s  Congressional Forum at our sponsored table at the event with Former Sen. John Kuhn (R-Charleston) winning top nods of most straw poll voters. This was a straw poll made open to all observers who chose to participate from Saturday’s Congressional forum (not just members of the Republican Liberty Caucus). Voters cast ballots for their first and second choices in the Congressional primary as well as the candidate they would least like to see win.

While voters were largely divided on who to support as both their first and second choices, they were strongly against Rep. Chip Limehouse (R-Charleston) with a whopping 81% saying they would least like to see him be their next Congressman.

(Note: If a candidate’s name does not appear under any question, that candidate did not receive any votes.)

We have some very good people running and hope we pick the right one. In our opinion Curtis Bostic would be great, Nash would be our 2nd choice, not Limehouse.

Dear Debbie, I am so, so sorry you had a bad experience at our office. You are probably only one of a handful of over 4,000 clinets who are unhappy. I would be happy to refund your money and see if we cannot do you right. Sincerely, John Kuhn

    • Debbie Jones says:

Hi John, I have called your office three times, since Feb. 17, and talked to four ladies on your staff. Last one was Amanda. She was to call me back with an appointment time to meet Katharine. Still waiting on the call back. Same problem we had last time we had business with your office, sir.

  9. Debbie Jones says:

My husband and I were at this forum. We know nothing of this straw poll. I was shocked to see John Kuhn win. He will NEVER get our vote! We paid Kuhn $1,200.00 to make our will/trust out, and got NOTHING. Said our money went to lawyer hours used.

  10. Jane Walker says:

Why is Curtis Bostic not on this list? So much for the RLC being unbiased!

    • Noneya says:

Did you read the article Jane? It clearly states that if a candidate’s name did not appear, they did not receive any votes. I guess none of his supporters participated in the straw poll – there’s no bias here so take your conspiracy theories somewhere else.

    • Tom Utley says:

I personally informed Mr. Bostic of the RLC straw poll (as I did all of the other candidates at their “booths” at the forum.) Some of the candidates felt it was worth participating in, and others evidently did not. Many of the general public thought it was a fun exercise. It was not scientific and made no claims of the sort.
