Republican Liberty Caucus Endorses Kenneth Fipps
Conservative Republican Group Endorses Newcomer Against Perennial Candidate in District 119
GREENVILLE, SC, May 20, 2014- The Republican Liberty Caucus State Board announced Thursday that it unanimously voted to endorse Kenneth Fipps in the Republican Primary for South Carolina House District 119. Fipps faces perennial candidate Chris Cannon, in the primary.
The caucus felt that Mr. Fipps had outstanding answers to their survey, pledging to address tax reform, overspending, and inefficient spending. Of note, was his plan to push for an audit of all state agencies.
“Mr. Fipps believes the people have the right to make decisions for themselves, and they know better what works for them than any bureaucrat in Washington and even Columbia,” says Dan Douglass, state board member. “Ken desires to downsize Columbia and push to make our state a beacon of efficient and purposeful government.”
According to Mr. Joshua Cook, Acting State Chairman, “We will see change in Columbia with great liberty candidates like Kenneth Lee Fipps. Fipps wants to end Obamacare in SC, take action on tax reform, stop common core, pass open carry, and protect life.”
Mr. Fipps is running to replace Democratic Representative Leon Stavrinakis, who has been in one political office or another for the last fifteen years. In 2012, the 119th District went overwhelmingly to Mitt Romney, leaving Mr. Fipps with high hopes of ousting the career Democrat.
Mr. Fipps is a native of SC, a third generation resident of Johns Island. Mr. Fipps has been involved in Republican politics for years. He served in the SC Student Legislature, was the Lt Gov at Palmetto Boy’s State, and is a voting member of the Charleston County Republican Party. Kenneth preaches in area churches on a consistent basis, and has since middle school. Mr. Fipps works locally, in sales.
